The Westin Anaheim Resort Review
If you’re planning a multi-day trip to Disneyland/Anaheim California and need a place to stay, the Westin Anaheim Resort is a great hotel to consider.
Location
The Westin Anaheim is located at 1030 W Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92802 which is across the street from Disney’s California Adventure. If you pick the room with the Park View you’re treated with a beautiful view of the Pixar Pal-A-Round Ferris wheel and Incredicoaster. We were upgraded to the full balcony room with Park View and it was amazing to look outside and see California Adventure so close and the view at night is even more amazing.
The only down side is that there isn’t direct access to the park from the Hotel so you would either have to walk about 10-15 minutes to the main entrance or take an Uber that will cost about $7-$15 one way. The walk isn’t that bad even after a full day at Disneyland but if you’re really tired an Uber will get you there in no time.
Amenities
The rooms are nice, clean, and modern. We really enjoyed the spacious room and the bathroom was very nice with all the necessary accommodations needed. The lighting in the room is connected to a panel that you can adjust the lights to your preferred setting. There was a coffee bar with everything you need to make your morning coffee. The highlight for our room was the balcony with view of California Adventure. The balcony had a lot of room so you can hangout with some friends while enjoying the views over Disneyland.
The Westin Anaheim Resort has plenty amenities that are common with most resorts in this price range but what sets them apart is the various bars, lounges, and views they offer. When walking in you will see the large bar with TVs and multiple seating arrangements. This bar is perfect for watching a sports game with some friends or just relaxing and having some appetizers and cocktails. Their cocktails are really good and I would highly recommend the mango margarita. Delicious!
There is also a bar conveniently placed by the pool. You can order food and cocktails there as well. The pool is a nice size for kids and adults looking to cool off. It isn’t the biggest pool so do not expect to swim laps. They have a nice Jacuzzi with a small water fall fixture that is really nice. There is also a really nice cabana for rent, and it was a really nice setup but I didn’t ask the price or how to reserve.
The rooftop bar is a nice addition because you’re able to relax and enjoy the views of California Adventure while having a cocktail. There are various bars for you to choose from, whether you just want to have a beer and watch a game, relax poolside with a margarita, or enjoy the sunset and the city lights from the rooftop bar.
The restaurant within the Westin is called the Tangerine Room and their breakfast is delicious. They have a breakfast buffet but you can also order main dishes. The chicken and waffles were delicious and is highly recommended. Their mimosas were very good and decently priced. All in all a great dining experience with great food.
The Staff
From the moment you drop off your car with Valet or speak with the front desk you are greeted warmly by the staff. Everyone working there is very friendly and accommodating. Whenever we had a request or a question they were eager to help. We would comeback just based on the staff and management alone.
Conclusion
This is a definite recommendation for a family who is going to visit Disneyland and wants to stay within walking distance. Not only is the Westin Anaheim Resort a great place for families but also for young people who want to enjoy the various bars, lounges, and restaurants they offer.
I would give the Westin Anaheim Resort 5/5.
Credit Card Recommendations
American Express Platinum Card
The main reason I booked this Resort was because it was part of the Fine Hotels and Resorts collection through American Express. Right now American Express is offering a $200 resort credit per year when booking through amextravel.com. Plus when booking with the Platinum Card you will receive a free room upgrade upon arrival (which we did), daily breakfast for two people, guaranteed 4pm late check-out (amazing!), noon check-in when available, complimentary WI-FI, and $100 experience credit for things such as good, beverages, spa, etc. We took advantage of all these benefits and it was definitely worth booking with the Platinum Card.

Marriott Bonvoy Credit Cards
The Westin is under the Marriott umbrella of Hotels and Resorts. This means that you will get added benefits when using any of the Marriott Bonvoy credit cards. The Marriot Bonvoy Boundless credit card from Chase is a great choice to use when booking the Westin Anaheim Resort because you will receive 6 points for every $1 at the hotel, and automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite Status.
